Well, I guess you could say I haven’t been lucky, in that a hurricane totally destroyed my life.  I, along with 11 others, lived with an elderly man.  We had a big back yard with lots of shaded trees and room to play and lounge. Then one day, our guardian started packing up all his belongings.  He was very sad and made phone call after phone call.  That night he just sat around and seemed sad.  Early the next morning several men in uniforms with lots of crates knocked on the door.  He just stood there and watched as each one was crammed into our respective crates.  Some of my friends got afraid and ran and hid, but they found us all and carried us away to a strange building with lots and lots of other animals.  We were lucky because we had our own small room. After weeks had passed and all our hope had vanished, the door opened and new faces appeared.  They had crates as well.  We all thought here we go again.  But our restraint was much different.  We were all released together in a large carpet with big closets to hide in until we were sure it was safe to come out.  Lots of good food to eat (too good because we all gained weight) and plenty of sunlight could shine through.  It made us all dreams of our sweet life before.  We now lived at the SpayMart shelter.  Two years is too long to be deprived of an owner through no fault of our own.  But we always count our blessings, could you be one?
