Board Members
President: Lynn Chiche
Affiliated with animal programs for 15 years. Started a mobile
spay/neuter program, responsible for rescuing and sterilizing
thousands of animals in Greater New Orleans area. Networks
with over 100 feral cat providers for low cost spay/neuter
and operates a food subsidy program.
Vice-President: Pamela V. Casey
Started and organized the Jefferson SPCA, opened a shelter
and operated it for 4 years, started a humane education program
in the schools and wrote a syndicated column on humane treatment
to animals in 63 newspapers. Organized the city's first low
cost spay/neuter program that coordinated with existing vets.
Directors
Dr. Ferrell Larousse is a veterinarian who operates
an animal emergency clinic and is responsible for assisting
SpayMart with animal-related health problems. He has worked
as a trauma vet for the past 15 years.
Angela Hill is the anchorperson on WWL-TV, the largest
TV station in the area. She lends her well-known concern for
animals on many occasions and is responsible for giving SpayMart
a lot of media coverage on animal issues.
Frank Delery is a real estate appraiser and broker.
He was responsible for working out the details of the purchase
and building of SpayMart's low cost spay/neuter clinic. In
the past, he has donated office space at no charge to the
Jefferson SPCA when they lost their shelter and he continues
to lend his expertise to SpayMart's endeavors.
Jeff Dorson is the founder of the Humane Society of
LA that has, for the past twenty years, been active in cruelty
investigations, operating a shelter and opening new shelters
throughout the state. He has been highly successful in numerous
arrests for dog fighting, which is a big problem in LA.
John Northcutt, owner of Platinum Computers, is a
computer expert who has set up our database and all the other
computer-based programs used by SpayMart.
Kathy Higgins is a research consultant and librarian
who lends her expertise to SpayMart when we need information
concerning laws related to animal issues.
Terry Virigan works as a business consultant and has
been vital to SpayMart's focus and organization. Prior to
opening his own consulting practice, Mr. Verigan was active
in politics in Jefferson Parish (part of the Greater N.O.
area).
Gerard Chiche and Keith Casey are the husbands of Lynn
Chiche and Pam Casey and were asked to join the Board early
on because of their love for animals. Dr. Chiche is a world-renowned
prosthodontist. Keith Casey, who is a real estate developer,
has worked with Pam on animal issues since 1977.
